Brace for annihilation! Developer Second Dinner has just launched the latest monthly season for the hit card battler Marvel Snap. The new season, titled 'Cosmic Clash,' draws its inspiration from the epic Marvel Comics storyline 'Annihilation,' bringing some of the universe's most powerful and destructive cosmic beings into the game's ever-shifting metagame.

The Lord of the Negative Zone: Annihilus

Headlining the 'Cosmic Clash' season is the new Season Pass card, Annihilus. This notorious villain from the Negative Zone is poised to introduce a chaotic and disruptive new archetype to the game.

This unique ability is designed to weaponize the 'junk' cards that players can send to their opponent's side of the board, such as Goblins, The Hood's Demon, or rocks from Korg and Rockslide. Annihilus can also be used defensively to clear your own board of negative-power cards like The Void (from Sentry) or by comboing with cards like Hazmat to reduce your own cards' power before sending them away. This creates fascinating new deck-building puzzles and strategic possibilities.

More Cosmic Powerhouses Arriving

Annihilus isn't the only cosmic threat arriving this month. In keeping with the season's theme, several other characters from the Annihilation event will be released as new Series 4 and 5 cards throughout the coming weeks. Players can expect to see:

• Blastaar: Another powerful being from the Negative Zone, likely to have an ability that interacts with card positions.
• Quasar: A cosmic protector wielding the Quantum Bands, potentially introducing a new protective or energy-based mechanic.
• Nova (Richard Rider): The Human Rocket himself, expected to have a powerful ability befitting the leader of the Nova Corps.

New Locations and Rewards

A new season also means new and updated locations to keep gameplay fresh. 'Cosmic Clash' introduces two new battlegrounds:

• Negative Zone (Reworked): The iconic location has been updated to better reflect its chaotic nature.
• Annihilation Wave: A new featured location that will surely cause havoc and force players to adapt their strategies on the fly.
