Valorant Mobile Expands Closed Beta to Europe and Southeast Asia
The battlefield is expanding. Riot Games has announced a significant expansion for the closed beta of Valorant Mobile, its highly anticipated mobile adaptation of the globally popular 5v5 tactical shooter. Starting next week, players on Android devices in several European and Southeast Asian countries will have a chance to join the action, providing crucial feedback as the game inches closer to a worldwide release.
New Regions Join the Fray
This latest phase of testing will open the gates for players in a handful of key new regions. The expansion includes:
- Europe: Germany, Italy, Spain
- Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia
This follows the initial closed beta, which was primarily focused on the Chinese market. The inclusion of European and diverse SEA markets indicates that Riot is actively testing server stability, latency, and matchmaking across a wider, more global infrastructure. Players in these newly added regions can pre-register on the Google Play Store for a chance to receive an invite to the closed beta. An iOS version is in development, but this testing phase remains Android-exclusive.
Closing the Gap: New Content and Features
Riot Games aims for Valorant Mobile to be a bespoke experience, not a direct port. This means custom-building the UI, controls, and certain features for touchscreens while preserving the tactical depth and razor-sharp gunplay of the PC original. The goal is to ensure competitive integrity remains paramount.
Our goal is to deliver the same core, competitive 5v5 tactical shooter experience that players know and love, but tailored for mobile devices.
This expanded beta will also introduce more content to bring the mobile version closer to its PC counterpart. Players in the test will get their hands on:
- New Agent - Clove: The daring Scottish Controller, who can defy death to support their team, will be playable.
- New Map - Abyss: The first Valorant map with no boundaries, featuring deadly drop-offs that add a new layer of tactical risk.
Riot is specifically looking for feedback on game performance across a wide range of Android devices, from high-end flagships to more budget-friendly models. They are also keen to gather data on control customization, matchmaking fairness, and overall gameplay feel before proceeding to a wider open beta or full launch.
The Road to Global Launch
Valorant first launched on PC in 2020 and quickly became a titan in the esports scene, rivaling established giants like Counter-Strike. The announcement of a mobile version in 2021 was a logical step, following the massive success of other competitive titles on mobile, such as Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile. However, Riot has taken a deliberate and careful approach, emphasizing quality over speed. This methodical beta rollout ensures that when Valorant Mobile does launch globally, it meets the high expectations of the competitive community. While a full release date is still not confirmed, this expansion is the most concrete sign yet that the game is progressing steadily through its development roadmap.
